Everybody Hate Acne

You wake up in the morning to start your wonderful day until you see yourself on a mirror in horror, only to realize an acne that you hate on your face.

When it comes to acne, everybody just hate it. Why? You may here the term “breakout” on the skin, which describes the acne. It looks like a pop on the face.

Known as chronic and inflammatory skin condition, Acne cause spots and pimples on the skin. The inflammation normally occurs on the face, shoulders, back, neck, chest, and upper arms.

It occurs normally on young adults, especially when they reach puberty stage. Although it is not dangerous, but it can leave skin scars if you damage it for example, scratching and etc.

Types of Acne

1. Whitehead

Whitehead are a form of acne. The most common cause of this type of acne is by the overproduction of sebum and oily substances that protect the skin.

They are form when skin pores gets clog by sebum and dead skin cells. However, the top of the pore closes up and made it look like a small bump protruding from the skin.

Whiteheads are difficult to treat as the pores are clogged. The best treatments include gels, lotions, creams, ointments, soaps and medicated pads and contains salicylic acid, which are helpful to the skin.

2. Blackhead

Blackheads occur when the skin pores starts to clog by a combination of sebum and dead skin cells. The top of the pore stays open, despite the rest of it being clogged. This results in the characteristic black color seen on the surface.

The acne looks like small black bumps that appear on your skin, with the clogging starts to look like a comedo bump. If the skin over the bump stays closed, exposure to the air causes it to look black and blackheads are form.

It can be cure with many types of acne medications. The best treatment would be available in cream, gel and etc.

3. Papule

Papules starts to form when the walls surrounding your pores break down from severe inflammation. It is a type of inflamed blemish and looks like a red bump on the skin.

This results in hard and clogged pores that are tender to the skin. The extra oil in the comedo feeds the Propioni acnes and the bacteria makes it red and inflamed.

Papule does not have a yellow or white center of pus. However, when a papule does accumulate pus, it becomes a pustule.

4. Pustule

Pustules are also form when the walls surrounding your pores break down, but the only difference is it contains pus inside. The bumps come out from the skin and are usually red in color. They often have yellow or white heads on top.

Pustules can be found any parts of the body but most commonly found on the back, chest, and face. They can also be found in clusters on the same area of the body.

This is a very common skin condition, particularly among teenagers and young adults. However, you can treat pustules with medication, or surgery in extreme cases, if they become annoying.

5. Nodules

When the pustules is left untreated, the bump starts to grow and additionally start to irritate. Unlike pustules and papules, they are deeper underneath the skin.

Because the acne is so deep, it needs medical treatment instead of just applying normal acne cream and etc. Medication prescribe by doctor is necessary to help the healing process.

6. Cysts

Cysts starts to develop when pores are clogged by a combination of bacteria, sebum, and dead skin cells. It occurs deep under the pores, much below the surface then nodules.

These large red or white bumps are often painful to the touch. Cysts are the largest form of acne, and their formation usually results from a severe infection. This type of acne is also the most likely to scar.

For this type of acne, it needs immediate attention by the doctor to drain the pus from the bump and surgically remove the cysts before it starts expanding and cause infection to the surrounding skin.
